Brighten Your Smile

If your teeth have yellowed with age or are stained from tobacco, tea, coffee, or food, bleaching may give your teeth a brighter look. Bleaching is tough on stains, but gentle to your teeth. Bleaching is a simple process that you do at home-following an exam to be sure you are a candidate. Bleaching does not change the color of fillings or crowns, so it's important to determine if bleaching is for you. Molds of your teeth are made and then custom fit trays are fabricated that will hold the bleaching gel against your teeth. Once you receive these trays and the gel, you'll be instructed on how to use them. How long it takes will depend on how badly discolored your teeth are, but results are usually visible within a few days. Antibiotic (tetracycline) stain and other more stubborn discoloration may take longer or may not respond as well. We would be happy to discuss this with you at your next visit, or give us a call if you have questions.
