Oral Cancer and Tobacco
It is our routine policy to check all patients for suspicious lesions on their face and in their mouth.
Over the years we have found several cases of oral cancer.
The common etiology has been the use of tobacco and sun exposure to the face and lips.
In one case the 21 year old male had chewed tobacco for less then one year.
One of the most comprehensive web sites about oral cancer is at
oralcancerfoundation.org.
The following photos are some typical oral cancer lesions.
